Following England's hammering by 336 runs at the hands of India at Edgbaston in the second test, it has been announced that the England Men's selection panel has added right arm pacer Gus Atkinson back into the squad for the third test at Lord's which is due to start on Thursday.

The Surrey pacer was ruled out of the first two test matches after sustaining a right hamstring injury in England's win over Zimbabwe in a one-off test at Trent Bridge back in late May.

England already have the presence of Jofra Archer in the squad who was not picked at Edgbaston, but may come into the lineup for the third test as England try to ease him back into test cricket after a gap of 4 years. Meanwhile, express fast bowler Mark Wood is also undergoing rehabilitation following an operation on his left knee and is hopeful to be fit in time for the final test of the series which is at Kia Oval from the 31st of July.

The 5-match test series between India and England is now level 1-1 after two high scoring games at Leeds and Edgbaston. The action now moves to Lord's, with the third test starting on Thursday, 10th July.
